Conditional Statements
  • Population: Head injury, aphasia, learning and language disability, and cognitive impairment.
  • Objectives: Deductive reasoning, memory, logical thinking, thought organization.
  • Ability Level: Mid to high.
  • Description: This program presents a challenging language task. A hierarchy of conditional statements is presented either visually or auditorily. A simple instruction would be: If sun is in box 12 click rain. Otherwise click clouds. A complex instruction would be: if sun is not in box 3 or rain is in box 20, click clock. Otherwise click car.
  • Features: The program tracks performance and provides an infinite number of stimuli within the following five different lesson types: 1) Simple Conditional, Negative Conditional, Conditional Conjunctive 'and', Conditional Conjunctive 'or', Negative/Positive Conditional Conjunctive 'or'. Speech is natural and intelligible.
  • System Requirements: PC Compatible (486 DX-66MHz processor or higher, Pentium or Pentium II preferred) Microsoft© Windows [3.1, '95, '98, NT4.0], 8 MB RAM. Sound card optional.
